The Queer Botany Project, recipients of an RCC-Ambassador Grant, are organizing an interactive, hands-on workshop exploring queer-inclusive teaching and queer perspectives in plant science.
Workshop recipients will examine how traditional botany has been influenced by binary gender concepts, patriarchal frameworks, and colonial histories - and how to rethink the way we speak, teach, and learn about plants.
- Title: From Roots to Words: Rethinking How We Speak About Plants (and Us)
- When: November 28th 2026, 9:30 - 15:00
- Where: Botanical Garden, University of Graz
- Target Audience: Primarily for students, but anyone curious is warmly welcome!
